Beryllium Products

We offer a wide assortment of Beryllium Product Strips and Rods, also known as Copper Beryllium, Or Beryllium Bronze. Possessing significant metalworking and operating performance qualities it is widely demanded by Engineering, Electrical and Electronics industries. Properties of Beryllium Copper.
The remarkable properties of beryllium include high strength, stiffness, low density, heat resistance and reflectivity, making it a material of choice for a range of demanding applications.

Beryllium Copper

In the fully heat treated and cold worked condition beryllium copper is the hardest (HV 100-420) and strongest (tensile strength 410-1400 N/mm2) of any copper alloy. It is similar in mechanical properties to many high strength steels but, compared to steels, it has better corrosion resistance (approximately equivalent to nickel silvers), higher electrical conductivity (16-65% IACS) and higher thermal conductivity (210W/moC). It is also non-sparking and non-magnetic.

Beryllium copper has long been used for non-sparking tools in the mining, gas and petrochemical industries. Because of the excellent fatigue resistance, beryllium copper is widely used for springs, pressure responsive diaphragms, flexible bellows, connectors, contacts and relays, which are all subject to cyclical loading.

Beryllium Copper Plate

Pearl Overseas sells alloy 172 Beryllium copper. Beryllium copper (BeCu), also known as copper beryllium, beryllium bronze and spring copper, is a copper alloy with 0.5ù3% beryllium and sometimes with other alloying elements. Beryllium copper combines high strength with non-magnetic and non-sparking qualities. It has excellent metalworking, forming and machining qualities. It has many specialized applications in tools for hazardous environments, musical instruments, precision measurement devices, bullets, and aerospace. Beryllium-containing alloys create an inhalation hazard during manufacturing due to their toxic properties.
BeCu Alloy 172 is a high-strength beryllium copper alloy made for plastics molding applications. BeCu Alloy 172 is widely used for injection molding tools or as cores and inserts in steel molds. When used in a steel mold it effectively cools hot spots, reducing or eliminating the need for cooling channels. Our copper meets ASTM B194 standards and is ideal for an array of applications and fabrication processes. Beryllium copper has excellent electrical and thermal conductivity. Beryllium copper comes in bar, plate, strip, rod, shapes, tube and wire.
